What opened
W1 and W2 turn the forest road into the Witchwood.
The reserved western exits in Forest F9 and Forest F10 are now active. Both lead into a connected pair of Witchwood maps where carved stones, hanging charms, bone talismans, violet mist and luminous mushrooms make the change in territory immediately visible.
W1 links Forest F9 to W2. W2 completes the loop back to Forest F10 and adds a southeast trail toward the ancient maple. Every route is reciprocal, so entering the Witchwood from either forest road still leaves a reliable path home.
The ancient maple
One landmark now occupies three vertical screens.
The maple is divided into its roots, middle boughs and high crown. Reaching the top of one climb loads the next screen, preserving the sense that the character is ascending through a tree much larger than a single map can contain.
Each height asks for a repeatable percentile Climb check based on the current character's natural Climb rating. The roots offer the most generous handholds, the middle boughs are less forgiving, and the exposed crown uses the unmodified skill. A failed attempt sends the character to a safe, authored landing on that screen instead of leaving them trapped in transition geometry.
Corrected road language
Forest F8 now reads as the junction it was meant to be.
F8's previous background correctly supported the roads east to F6 and south to F9, but it visually closed the approved northern continuation. The replacement art gives the north road a clear wagon-width mouth while preserving the existing east and south routes.
Forest F11 remains planned, so the north edge currently returns the character to a safe position with an unavailable-route notice. The important difference is that the world map, runtime contract and painted scene now agree about where the road continues.
What comes next
The new branch is playable, but still part of a growing world.
Future passes can tune Climb difficulty and fall consequences as Avendor's wider health and encounter systems mature. Forest F11 is also now a clearly reserved destination rather than an accidental-looking break in the trees.
